Intergenerational Day

Courtesy of the i2i Intergenerational Society…

Each year on June 1, we promote Intergenerational Day – a celebration of the mutual benefits of building relationships across generations.

Now more than ever, we need ways to connect. We need to celebrate. Just because we can’t be together, doesn’t mean we can’t be connected.

IT’S SIMPLE, FUN AND EASY!

Simply find someone from a different generation and…

  • IF you have a few seconds,

  • Make eye contact and smile

  • Hold the door for the person to pass through

  • Say ‘Have a good day!’

  • IF you have 5 minutes,

  • Call to say hello

  • Put the number in your cell contact list so you can call again sometime

  • Give a single flower

  • IF you have 30 minutes,

  • Sit down and have a conversation

  • Go for a short walk

  • Write a short note in a card and post it

  • IF you have an hour or two,

  • Share a meal

  • Go to a movie together

  • Play a game together

Take that moment June 1st

and then

plan on making it a habit!
