Our Classes
In-Person Exercise Classes at UBC
In collaboration with the UBC School of Kinesiology, the BC Brain Wellness Program is offering in-person exercise classes at the UBC Vancouver Campus. The classes are taught by qualified instructors and supported by UBC Kinesiology students who gain from the hands on, immersive nature of the classes.
These evidence-based classes take a multimodal approach to exercise by incorporating strength, aerobic, balance, and agility exercises into each class. The BC BWP In-Person Exercise Program is designed for individuals with chronic brain conditions; however, classes are not geared toward a specific condition. Rather, classes focus on functional movements that can benefit many different conditions, supplemented with personalized modifications for each participant based on their presentation.
Classes take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays at various times, all at UBC Campus. Please note that, in order to participate you must be able to:
Commute to UBC Campus
Walk 50 metres with or without a gait aid
Stand for 15 minutes
Get on and off the floor
These classes have limited capacity, so if you are interested in participating, please email brain.wellness@ubc.ca.
