About the Instructor
I grew up in a musical family, and went from high school into the Music Program at UBC as a piano major in 1st year, switching to a voice major in 2nd year. During that time I was doing a TV series with my two older sisters – The Bye Sisters – and dabbling in theatre. I left University to tour with a band and am performing live with several different projects to this day.
I’ve done studio work all my adult life, singing background vocals on albums by such artists as Bon Jovi, Cher and INXS, as well as countless others. I’ve sung commercials for Barbie dolls, beer, cars, hamburgers and hundreds of other products.
I’ve also been a vocal coach for many years and in 2016 I took a training course for a vocal empowerment program called SongShine. I started teaching in the fall of that year and have been teaching two or three classes a week ever since. The course is so much fun to teach, and watching the participants improve their vocal power through the various modalities the course employs is nothing short of amazing. I can’t wait to share it with the Brain Wellness Program!
