Zentangle:
Playing with Patterns
Unlock your creativity and develop your artistic expression with Certified Zentangle® Teacher, Natasha Dash, in these 1hr Zentangle classes. No drawing experience needed!
Zentangle is a method of drawing that follows eight basic steps. It is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns which are called tangles. Tangles are created using a series of steps and elemental strokes similar to an i s c o (or dots, lines, simple curves, s-curve, and orbs).
Zentangle art is non-representational. It does not require a lot of supplies or materials, and it can be done anywhere. There are no erasers in Zentangle because the idea is that while you are tangling, there are “no mistakes, only opportunities”. With this mind-set, tanglers avoid self-criticism, self-doubt, and fear of failure.
Art Supplies Needed:

About the Instructor
My name is Natasha Dash, and I am a Certified Zentangle® Teacher (CZT). I began my Zentangle journey in 2016, and I continue to be inspired by the Zentangle philosophy which emphasizes mindfulness, relaxation, and embracing imperfection.
As a CZT, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion of the method of Zentangle with students during in-person and online classes. Through carefully crafted lessons, students of all skill-levels are guided to explore patterns and shapes in a supportive and non-judgemental environment. As a CZT, I appreciate the opportunity to be part of a student’s journey to unlocking their creativity and artistic expression as well as enhancing their overall well-being.
When I am not teaching Zentangle classes, or creating my own Zentangle artwork, I am an elementary school teacher in the North Vancouver School District. During my down time, I also love attending live music events, traveling with my husband, participating in arts and crafts classes, walking in the forest or near the water, and visiting with friends.
