Speakers

Anna Brisco

Anna Brisco (they/them) is a Registered Dietitian, Lecturer in Dietetics Education in the Faculty of Land and Food Systems, and current Program Lead for the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics (MND) at UBC. Prior to completing the UBC Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition (Dietetics Major) in 2016, they studied biology, went to culinary school, and worked in food service and urban agriculture. As a RD, they have developed their passions for nutrition, food and education through roles in a wide range of organizations, including residential care, grocery stores, community non-profits, and food education for children, youth and educators. Their food philosophy is about balancing nutrition with the social and cultural aspects of food and eating. People need to have positive and fun experiences with food, because healthy eating is so much more than just what we eat.

Yolanda Nuanyan Wang

Yolanda is a Registered Dietitian and an American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certified personal trainer. As a UBC alumnus with a Dietetics Major and Kinesiology Minor, working with clients to develop a healthy and satisfying lifestyle is her passion. Before joining the BC Brain Wellness team, she worked as a dietitian in acute care, gestational diabetes clinics, and long-term care facilities, and also as a personal trainer at UBC Recreation Center. She is excited about the opportunity to combine her passion for nutrition and exercise by contributing to the research projects under BC Brain Wellness Program.
