Join us for our April Wellness Wednesday with Dr. Ingrid Jarvis! The talk will explore how urban green spaces – like parks, gardens, and trees – support human health and well-being, with a focus on aging. We will discuss theories behind nature-health connections, existing evidence, and how this knowledge can help create healthier communities.
This is a hybrid event. Dr. Ingrid Jarvis will be in-person at the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health presenting in the Rudy North Lecture Theatre (Lower Level Atrium) and so we encourage you to join us in-person! You can register for either in-person or zoom through the registration buttons below.

Dr. Ingrid Jarvis
Dr. Ingrid Jarvis is a postdoctoral research fellow in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and a Michael Smith Health Research BC trainee. She holds a PhD in Forestry from UBC, where her research explored how urban green spaces support human health across the life course. Prior to her doctoral work, she obtained bachelor’s degrees in psychology and natural resources conservation. Her current research focuses on how residential green space influences cognitive function in middle-aged and older adults. By examining the health impacts of different types of green spaces and pathways linking nature to health, her work aims to inform urban planning and policies to promote healthier communities.
