Brain-Power Kitchen


Build on your nutrition knowledge and cooking skills by attending our bi-weekly classes. Led by registered dietitian, dietetics students and guest speakers, these sessions include presentations, cook-alongs, and guided discussions with your peers.

These will be bi-weekly classes with alternating styles: week 1 features nutrition education and discussion, while week 3 class offers a cook-along session.

What to prepare for the class: access to a kitchen, consider your current cooking and eating habits.

Nutrition for Healthy Aging

Date: Mondays bi-weekly
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

This class will cover essential nutrition knowledge that is fundamental to healthy eating behaviours and healthy aging. This will equip you to make informed decisions when deciding if you should follow a certain dietary trend or choose one food product versus the other. We will also cook together to transfer the knowledge into practice! Led by registered dietitians, dietetics students and guest speakers, these sessions include presentations, cook-alongs, and guided discussions with your peers.

As a note: there is an optional opportunity to share your experience with research team at the end of the term

Nutrition for Brain Health

In this class, we will build healthy eating habits together to take care of our body and brain. From meal planning to grocery shopping to food preparation, we will explore together how we can transform the living environment so it’s easier for us to make healthy food choices. Led by registered dietitians, dietetics students and guest speakers, these sessions include presentations, cook-alongs, and guided discussions with your peers.
