For as long as I can remember, I have been interested in mental balance. From an early age, I became dedicated to enhancing my own awareness by doing things to develop my alternate brain hemisphere.

It was my brain training facilitator who first suggested that I get involved with the BC Brain Wellness Program. I had been complaining about feeling bored and complacent after too many years of chronic pain, decreasing mobility, and inactivity following a debilitating surgery…

I began taking the recommended online exercise classes. That opened up my interest and curiosity... I soon became involved in creativity classes, and ultimately a research study with the Virtual Singing Collective. That was a game changer!

My lifelong interest in music was re-awakened! I found myself involved in a community that encouraged and supported me in pursuing my dream of becoming a jazz singer! I go on a musical adventure every day and haven’t been bored for a moment since.
