Tessa Keime
Instructor - Therapeutic Art Group: A Journey of Self-Expression and Reflection
Tessa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor, Registered Art Therapist, and Marriage and Family Therapist, based in Vancouver. Her diverse experience includes addressing childhood trauma in schools, providing therapy in assisted living and memory care settings, to guiding teens and adults on week-long therapeutic mountain adventures. Currently, she is involved with the Vancouver Hospice Society and has previously worked with organizations supporting individuals with chronic illnesses such as Parkinson's disease and their care partners. Alongside her work at the hospice, Tessa runs a private practice offering traditional talk therapy, nature-based therapy, and art therapy for all ages. She also facilitates grief and loss art therapy groups at a local ceramics studio. Tessa's approach is rooted in person-centered holistic care, addressing the mind, body, and spirit/heart for comprehensive healing and well-being.
In the ebb and flow of life beyond work, Tessa’s heart finds its rhythm in nature. Whether she’s navigating mountain trails or embarking on ocean adventures, an unmistakable zest for life radiates from her. Amidst grand adventures, the simple joy of walking with her furry pup (Koru) grounds her. Tessa thrives in the warmth of bonfires, surrounded by friends, and shared stories. The beach is her sanctuary, a tranquil haven for rejuvenation, and family time is a cornerstone of her identity. As an artisan with a passion for printmaking, painting, and clay, a culinary enthusiast, and an explorer immersing herself in diverse cultures, Tessa weaves a rich tapestry of creativity and authenticity in every aspect of her life.
