Wellness Wednesday: Exploring Therapeutic Cannabis Research

Join us for our first Wellness Wednesday with speaker Dr. Zachary Walsh as we explore the potential clinical application of cannabis. This session will discuss evidence-based therapeutic benefits, cannabis modalities, and cannabis' role in healthy aging and neurocognition.

Zach Walsh

Zach Walsh, PhD, RPsych is a clinical psychologist, a Professor of Psychology at the University of British Columbia, and a Research Affiliate with the BC Centre on Substance Use.

Zach is the director of the Therapeutic, Recreational, and Problematic Substance Use lab at UBC and the Head Supervisor for the UBC Problematic Substance Use Clinic.  He has published and presented widely on topics related to cannabis,mental health and psychotherapy.  He has been lead investigator for several ongoing studies of the therapeutic use of cannabis including a clinical trial of cannabis for PTSD, and ongoing studies of therapeutic cannabis use among people who use other drugs, and the impacts of cannabis legalization. Zach has provided invited consultations on medical cannabis use to the Canadian House of Commons and Senate, the Uruguayan Ministry of Health and other international organizations.
