Our Classes
Online Exercise Classes
At the BC Brain Wellness Program, online exercise class options are varied. Participants are guided as to which class is most appropriate for them based on their medical history, physical abilities, and specific goals they wish to achieve. If you are new to the BC Brain Wellness Program’s exercise and/or yoga classes, please click the button below to book a safety screening assessment. The assessments are done virtually over video and their purpose is to help determine an appropriate level of activity for you. Please note, assessments are required for participation in our exercise and yoga programs.
The goal of our online exercise programs is to facilitate adherence to exercise programming that is appropriately challenging and safe. The exercise classes should transfer into improvement in ability to complete activities of daily living.
All online classes are one hour long. Participants are encouraged to exercise at their own level and do what they feel comfortable/able to do. You will need space to move, a sturdy chair, a mat for floor work (if applicable) and a water bottle.
How do I choose a class?
Select a class according to the level given to you at your Exercise Safety Screening Appointment.
Level 1
Mainly seated exercise, limited mobility,
significant challenge
with standing balance.
Level 2
Standing exercise, need
to hold onto a
walker or a high-backed
chair to aid with balance.
Level 3
Standing and moving
with or without the
need to hold onto a
surface, able to walk independently, minor
balance deficits.
Level 4
Able to walk and move independently, higher
level of intensity, ability
to get on and off the
floor, minor balance
deficits.
